You are JOKING Tom I still have th entry form on the desk and that is where it is staying!!!!
Jerry A runners blog-updated daily
Mrs S is now beginning to get wind of the GUCR after I got yet another lecture on long distance running and how I could just do marathons from now on.
Still looking for a March 2011 event.
Good luck with your entry Jezza, will you be doing it supported / unsupported (asssuming you get in, fingers crossed)

Like Tom, I will be looking at the website over the weekend periodically to see the news. Just the training is going to be hard enough, I saw somewhere on the website Vicky Skelton trained doing 30 miles on the Friday and then 45 miles on the Saturday and was up to 123 miles per week by the end. It will be tough
So March I will be looking to do something in the region of 50km-->100km
<<<<PHEW>>>>
Somehow I don't think I will be but there would certainly be some wholesome back to backs in the mix

When training for Ridgeway i managed 30 Saturday and then 20 Sunday and 100miles peak for the week. So although
i am not suggesting i would / could do vicky's mileage myself, the numbers are not as daunting as they would have been
6mths ago. Anid what worked for her may not for you (you already know this Jerry ), and you did fine on Ridgeway on
a plan that had plenty of consistent mileage weeks, which is somthing i am trying to do this time round, more quality, less
quantity. And as Purdey said, Vicky was going for a course record, i assume you wont be
50 - 100km sounds ok to me, let me know if anything catches your eye.
Cider IS carb loading
agreed! Anything like a marathon or an ultra this summer was followed by at least a long slow run the following day and then a run the next. There were some on the ridgeway that were doing runs of 50-60 miles to train. I never did more than about 35 so that recovery was quick but you could go out the next day. Having said that it is horses for courses and everyone is different.
OH MY F&^KING GOD
George and I are in the race.........
I am more gutted than you can imagine.
Tom
There will be a massive drop out from the initial list, I read 124 have been selected (unless my cut and paste went wrong). Lets us hope you are in the next 20 or so selected as that will give you an almost guarantee entry. Maybe Dick will advise you of your number in the list.
Nope. 124 selected for 100 places. He has already taken account of the drop out.
OH MY F&^KING GOD George and I are in the race.........
Well done on both of you getting in, i see Helen Smith and Claire Shelley are also in, be good to have some familiar faces as company.
Better start training like a demon then Mr Jerry.
