That all sounds good to me. I did go ahead and get a bus pass so I'm good with whatever is decided.

Sounds good to me too.  I still need to contact the race director about getting on the bus also.

BTW, I just saw Scott Jordon ("Flash") at the Y tonight, and he's doing it also.  I know we may not have room in Alicia's van for him, and he's not planning on car pooling any way, but I would like to include him for lunch.  He might even have a van if we need more room.

Mike called it in his log - this forecast is looking worser and worserer.  The only saving grace is right now it says the wind is from the NW.  That would be a big boost, actually.

            No, thank you.

            Running Rick

Hi, this is Running Rick. Am I the only one running the half? If someone else is, they can ride to Wallis Sands with me. I would leave at 9:00 and be there at 10:00.  That way I don't have to stand in the rain for 2 hours. Anyone want my bus pass?  Everyone has the same finish line in Salisbury. I would be finishing around 1:00.

It appears from the previous comments that everyone is going to be picked up at the finish instead of taking the bus back to the Casino parking lot.  It is agreeable to me as I don't want to go to the Ashworth. I noticed that to get into the hotel one needs a number - so much for the support staff.

Thanks for the offer of a ride to Wallis Sands parking lot.  If the van is crowded,  one can get a ride back to Sanford with me.

                Rick (and all)...

The 20 mile finish this year is in Hampton Beach because of more course changes. I can't find confirmation that this is also true for the half. I'd assume so, but does anybody know this for sure? If they have to change one is it safe to assume they'd automatically change both so they finish together? The website info isn't up to date for the 20, so I'm not sure I trust what it says about the half. Thoughts?

The Run for the Border Half Marathon Mile buses will also board at the Casino lot, starting at 8:00 a.m. and running until 9:30 a.m. They will transport runners to the start in Rye.

                  Where:
The Casino parking lot is located on Ashworth Avenue, across from the Hampton police station. To get there, take exit #2 off rte. 95, rte 101 east. Take a right at the stop sign on to Ocean Boulevard (rte 1A). Bear right on to Ashworth Avenue to the parking entrance on D Street. Parking in the lost is free.

                  After the Race:
At the conclusion of both races, at the state line in Salisbury, buses will shuttle you back to the Casino, with a stop at the Ashworth Hotel, where the food and awards will take place, should you be interested in either of those. It's only about a quarter-mile between the Ashworth and the Casino. There will be no buses back to the Sart Line, so please park at the Casino for bus service.

Looks like parking at Casino, finish Salisbury, bus to Casino for both races

It won't let me cut and paste right now, but in the info email from the RD it says that due to the course changes the 20 mile race ends in Hampton beach, not at the state line in Salisbury.

Yeah if we finish at the Casino, then we don't take the bus at all after the finish, right?  Just walk to the car.  I'll try to look but have to assume the half also ends at the same place.  But we won't be finishing until 1:30-1:45.

Also, I'm sure none of us are sticking around for the awards.  Still don't know if we are eating lunch, that may be a game-time decision.  I may just want to get home and sit in front of a fire.

mta: Rick, did you get an email from Don Allison?  I had to request mine.  If you email him at don-allison@comcast.net you could get your answer about the finish.

So this is going to be weird, because it would appear that we will be running in a monsoon.  And it sounds like what we are planning is a 16 mile 5 person group run followed by a 4 mile race.  I don't think I've ever really done anything like this before.

Hey look they added snow to the forecast.

singlet and shorts, baby.  Then hypothermia.

7:15 is good and post race food is always good by me

I'm in for 7:15 and I'm flexible with or without food. It takes me an hour or more to get an appetite after a  long run and hypothermia will only add to that effect.

MTA: I also have 7 throw away rain poncho's for anyone who would like one. I got them at the dollar store and just like the 15 cent freeze pops I believe you''re all worth a dollar.

The half ends at the border and the 20 ends in Hampton.  I will take the bus back to Hampton and try to find you at the finish.  This is suppose to be fun.  Right?
