PressingOn

Marco - Cross post.  Oh no, another funeral?  And so close to Christmas.  I'm sorry.  Glad you got some good sleep.

PressingOn, new running clothes and finding your Garmin is defintely happy dance material.  And, it's cool that your daughter wants running clothes for Christmas...  Swim drills sound awful.  But, that's probably because I'm not a strong swimmer.  I can do backstroke like a champ but I get tired out from anything else.  I need to find some new/better drills, though.  And, I should probably do more of them because I think they have helped my form.

Docket_Rocket, nice av!  Is that an ornament?

JoJo, I'm childless so maybe I'm wrong, but I don't some daycares set rules about not bringing in sick kids?  Maybe it wouldn't be so unusual for her to set some kind of policy.

Scott, I think cutting the mileage is a good idea.  For the long run, you might want to do an out-and-back so you're not locked in to a certain distance.

SIAR, a lot of people swear in hill training.  I hope it works for you...  So, here's the weird thing with McMillan and me.  That 8K comes out to a 3:19 marathon.  But, the longer distances I ran in October as tune-up races for NYCM - a 10 miler and a half marathon - put me in the 3:13-3:15 range.  I'm either underperforming at the shorter distances or overperforming at the longer ones.

One was the mother of one of my employees.  Today's was for a member of our church.  It is tough around Christmas.  One of my grandmothers died a few days before Christmas and a few years later, my other grandmother died on Christmas.

Julia, it is!  And it has a great RWOL history.  During the first year I participated of the BF Secret Santa, the guy that got me (eddiemoto) ordered these Christmas ornaments for me.  I have 4-5 Docket_Rocket ones and a girl and a guy runners.  Oh, and a shoe with 26.2.  They are awesome!
