COMMENTS: Great run. It felt great and I had a good, not too hard pace and kept it. Got under my 10 min mile mark. I'd like to do a 10k in the near future. The hills on the first 2 miles do get the HR going but it does keep you from going too fast knowing there is 4 more miles. The other 4 I had a good pace and my HR stayed in the upper 140's. The last mile I sped up a bit just to get used to pushing after 5 miles. I felt real strong at the finish. Breathing was mostly 3/2 and that's where I wanted it. I wouldn't have thought I could run for a hour straight. I need to run 6 miles in 57:55 to break 1 hr on a 10k, my goal, so I need to knock another min off. I had a Clif Bar CPB and milk before I left and didn't have anything on the run. I took a gel and some water but didn't use it. I should use it next time just to sample them.
