Once again, perfect fall weather! This was my first interval session in a while, and as expected I pushed way too hard. I was all excited with my recent increase and fitness so I got it in my head to be under 7 min for all of my mile repeats. I was successful but it was pretty much 100% for that third one which is not really what I should be doing, especially for my first interval session. I don't think I had another sub 7 min interval in me. I like to give out advice to fellow friends but I have a hard time following it myself. I'm trying to rush my training for this November 5k, but it doesn't work that way. I'm happy I was able to get them all in under 7 min but I need to be careful or I will end up injured.

Sub 7!?!?!?!? Holy cow. That is so super cool man, great job. Try not to overdo it though, like you said it takes time to improve. It is tough to be patient when gains may not be as rapid as we like, but that is the beauty of it. It keeps us all challenged enough not to get bored! Don't be too hard on yourself...heck, you BURNED 800+ calories on your lunch break, most people EAT that on their break...LMAO!! Good effort.

Thanks man! You are totally right. I was just talking to Pete about it. I over did it with this work out yesterday, so I'm calling it race effort in my head, since I don't race that much. It's ok to do from time to time, but I need to be careful to not do this with too many of my speed workouts. Next time I do intervals, which will be in Disney World next week, I'll take it down a couple notches. Yeah, I love seeing those calories burned. Patience, consistency and patience. Also, patience :)

This is pretty impressive buddy, 3 sub-7 miles is no joke. You know I am guilty of doing stuff like this too - don't over do it, but it must feel good to crank it up! I also note the 131 HR for your first 8:50 pace mile - fit as a fiddle. It won't be long before 1 massive beat per mile is all you will need to oxygenate those muscles...
