Nice long run with 8 in the middle with Joe and Justin. A new distance PR for Joe and he handled it like a champ with a speed up at the end. I picked it up myself at the end of my run. Wore my new white compression sleeves. Love those puppies.
Nice job buddy. So regarding the time trial, your final assessment is right - a time trial is not a race, period. I've done time trials where I thought I would drop dead at the end, only to get in a race and run the same pace or better without much trouble. You can't recreate the race adrenaline just on your own. That being said, you still ran a great pace and a PR, which is only bound to improve over the next few months they way you've been going.

And remember, you're training for distance at the moment, not speed! A sub-7 10K pace is pretty darn quick!

Hey D! I read your blog. I agree with Snow that you really can't simulate the adreneline rush you get and the overall 'buzz' of a race. It adds a factor that is difficult to quantify. You should be ver PROUD of where you are at right now.

Also, great job on this run! It was a ton of fun. Plus, my first experience on the towpath...we got lucky that it was freshly laid out for us!
