Felt stronger than in 2011 throughout the race until the last 3-4 miles when I started cramping again. It started in the hip flexors, went to the quads and hamstrings, and then eventually the calves. I started just walking the uphills and then eventually could hardly even run the last .5 on pavement with a mix of walking and jogging to keep cramps at bay. In between aid station one and two, I had a bottle of Heed, a 100 cal gel and a 150 cal energy bar along with a couple of small potato pieces with salt and a cookie. Between the turnaround and station three, I had two gels and two potato pieces with salt and a bottle of Heed. After the last station, I only had a bottle of Heed. Once again, I probably didn't eat enough.
