Notes

Took Tessa for a walk and about 2 blocks in decided to jog a little.

10:56/9:39

I just think if I could have been able to go 9:39 the last 9 miles...under 4 hours... would have been nice. Next time.

Physical Therapy went well. She is related the hip muscle swelling and problems to my IT band. When she worked on it, it was very painful. Then she gave me an anti-inflammatory patch. I think it did some good. She mentioned the foam roller which I told her I used, but not as much in the past two months since my son (Dr. Tanner) wasn't around to ask me about it. She mentioned how I should use it and it happened to be the same as what he had told me to do. I remember that one hurting more than any.

I'm convinced now I was running more on the forefront of my foot during miles 13-16 and putting a lot of stress on the calf muscles. Combine that with some dehydration (main cause) and I didn't have a chance to avoid the cramps.

Feels good to get back out and even jog a few miles. I go to see Dr. Frier this afternoon to get checked over after my 26.2 and about a week of rest.

This is the most time I've taken off after a marathon. I feel disabled. I was really encouraged by my brother Mike who simply texted me, "You are unbreakable!" after the race.
