Notes

My stomach started to hurt early in the race (maybe around mile 4-6), was able to get it worked out for a while. Pace felt good and easy, I had to keep myself from going too fast on the downhill and the first half of the race. Just after mile 17 I got a severe side ache, felt like someone was trying to separate my rib cage. Had to walk and stretch it out and then slowed my pace so the pain was tolerable. The night before I had chicken pasta at about 5PM, and then ate a few snacks at night (raisins, peanuts, sweet potato chips, etc.). The morning of the race I had a cinnamon raisin bagel from BAB with peanut butter at about 5:45AM, then at about 7:15 I ate a banana and drank my UCAN (1 scoop with 10oz of water).

I ate 3 margarita bloks at about mile 6.5 and then ate 1/2 bonk breaker bar around 1/2 way. I only tried to eat a little to see if that would help my stomach, but it didn't, but it also didn't seem like it made it any worse.

I suspect that taking some ibuprofen leading up to the race, days before and taking 1 the morning before lead to my stomach issue. I was taking those because my lower back has been hurting me for the past month roughly.

Overall I was happy with my results despite having all of my stomach issues, the next day my legs felt pretty good and overall wasn't really sore. I did an upper body workout and some core at lunch time with no issue or soreness.
