Notes

It was pretty cold today! ('Real Feel' was 9 degrees!) I had to get a run in, so I went out and took care of business. I am following the Biggest Loser theory of 'No Excuses'!

I am hopeful that logging these miles in the dead of winter will help me a whole bunch when the Earth warms up. I was again loaded up with warm clothes, although my face was unprotected and got pretty cold.

The first mile was rather quick by my low standards. Probably due to the cold and motivation. I was reading the Running Times this morning, and my new favorite blog, the Running Russian. They made me want to get up and go! I can't believe that someone has run everyday for 43 years!!! That is a serious streak...

The second mile has skewed numbers. My shoelace came undone, and I think the time I took to slow down, stop and tie it, and start again may have been just under the window of the Garmin's 'auto feature' for pauses. That second lap should have been much quicker!

Nevertheless, I'll take what I can get. I generally only weigh myself once a week, so maybe I lost 2 pounds? Who knows...time will tell...I have greatly adjusted my kitchen behavior and diet. I hope it pays off come Spring!

Alright buddy! You are right about it paying off if you are able to exercise in the coldest winter weather that come spring time you will love it and going out to run will be something you are looking forward to. Nice first mile there. You were cruising along! Keep up the good work man!

As I was reading your workout notes: "I was reading the Running Times this morning, and my new favorite blog..." I'm thinking that's cool Joe has a blog he reads, I wonder what it could- Oh! made me smile!

Ditto on Bilenkin's notes, stellar work Joe on a rough morning. Sweet first mile for sure. Every mile you tough out now is going to make the Springtime miles feel fantastic. Time to subscribe to the Running Russian!
