Quite the race. It was windy and had a some hills. Was a great workout course but not a fast race course one. My goal was 6:35-6:40 overall pace and I came in at 6:42 and considering the day and the course that is fine. First mile was a fast start and then i hit the wind wall on the second half but came out to a 6:35. Mile 2 was ENTIRELY UP HILL and I was just trying to keep the heart rate in control. Mile 3 was a faster mile where it was flat with some ups and downs and I was working on getting my turnover back up after the hill. Mile 4 would have been fast but it was a wind section and swear it just stood me up and kicked my butt. I felt fine but no matter how hard I pushed the wind pushed back. So saved some for the last mile...a little down hill with on of my better kicks to smoke the folks around me at the end.
