Notes
I was very happy with this run for several reasons. For a start, there was no bodily fatigue or mental difficulty getting up and out the door, even when I noticed there was a steady light rain falling. In fact I woke up at 4:30 and didn't get back to sleep properly, so when the alarm went I basically jumped out of bed. Then the run itself was a just a good steady pace. Strong, but totally aerobic and not straining or overdoing it. My one criticism is that I went into it with the pre-conceived aim of running 16 km (four laps of Komazawa), but when I started to feel a bit of fatigue creeping in during lap 3, wondered if I should cut it back to 14 (three laps). But obstinately I pressed on with the plan. The fact I slowed on the fourth lap strongly suggests that my voice of doubt was justified and I probably should have backed out of the fourth lap. Still, I don't think that I overcooked the meal by too great a degree, but may have to think carefully about how to approach tomorrow.
