Notes

When the quality of your runs is going down, and the effort is going up, you know you have a problem!

I took Mugsy with me on this one, to give him a little exercise. I think it may have been just a tad too warm for him, though. I should know not to bring him out above, say, low 70's. But he was a trooper and stuck out almost 2 miles with me before he started getting tired. I let him off the leash so he could jaunt along at his own pace, and catch up to me when he was ready, which worked just fine.

I, on the other hand, was a little slow myself. Still reeling from my bad 12 two days before, I pushed myself out for this one, with the mindset that I HAD to do it, because I HAVE to get these shorter runs in to work my legs in between longs. And ain't that the truth. I do say I felt a little more loose and flowy at the end than when I started, which was encouraging. All in all, this was still not a great run. I should have been able to go MUCH faster than this pace and much more comfortably so. I think I'm paying for the rapid increase in mileage, as I've already said.

My body was fine with it the first 2 months, but now it really is kind of like, uhm, this isn't working for us. So I'm going to be cautious and listen to my body, to make sure to avoid any injury and be more vigilant about getting those shorter runs in, like this one.
