Notes

Brutal out there. I didn't feel great at all during this run, had to go to the bathroom the entire time.

Starting tomorrow, I'm going to keep track of my food. I want to know how much i've been eating.

Anyone know how many calories we should be getting on a daily basis, as runners?

At your body weight and training intensity 3500 min to as much as 4500. Frankly I'd aim for about 3500 and see how that goes. I'd be willing to sacrifice calories for nutrition though if left with that decision.

Mike, i kept track of EVERYTHING yesterday. I ate 3,575 calories and probably burned around 1,150 or so.

Fats: 32% (134g)

Carbs: 55% (509g)

Protein: 13% (124g)

Not too bad at all, I would consider that for your last few weeks before the marathon you might want to switch your Fat and Carb ratios, and then maybe switch back for the last 3 days.

Your body can only store so much Carbohydrate, but fat is a near endless supply of energy so loading up on fat storage for a few weeks while training at your intensity should improve your ability to burn fat then the last few days you can load up on carbs and you'll have a full supply of carb energy and...

fat energy plus your body's fat burning should be improved.

olive oils, organic butter, avocado... stuff like that. - really just avoid the trans fat, the poly and mono unsaturated is fine (oils plants) and the saturated is fine (animal products including yogurt and butter) but of course only if organic - I don't remember if you vegans consume animal products at all or not.

Good info here - I should probably start tracking as it might force me to take more responsibility for what I eat (which often times isn't all that healthy!)
