Notes

Had to start this run later than normal. I stayed home with Caleb today after him vomiting a few times last night and this morning. So i started this run a little after 6 this evening. I planned on doing a marathon pace tempo run for 6 miles. I struggled with hitting a consistent rhythm and the pace was kinda sporadic, plus throw in the swirling wind at times. I did manage to get some quality hard and sustained efforts in tonight. I did a 2 mile WU then 4 miles of hard effort(87% of max HR-right at Lactate Threshold pace) then i started feeling queasy with my stomach so i took a brief period of easy running for a little bit down to Drug Emporium then headed back up the blvd. I started feeling better after the little break, so i jumped back into my hard effort with a headwind so i kept looking at the pace and i was frustrated that i was putting in the same effort as earlier but the pace was in the 7:40's instead of the upper 7:20's to mid 7:30's. Finally i just forgot about the pace and ran another hard effort for 2 or 3 miles again 85 to 87% of max HR and just tried to keep the effort there for as long as i could. That turned out to b 2 or 3 miles and then my legs were just shot and i was feeling pretty rough so i took it easy jogging back in for the last 3 miles or so. Overall a very tough run that made me dig deep which i am sure will help with the mental toughness needed to run a fast marathon this spring. As i type this entry i had to take a lengthy break b4 completing it after coming in with nausea and what felt like a mild case of hypothermia. I think it was where i kept my sweaty clothes on after the run and when i got home it was 43 degrees carrying my stuff in. Right now i am feeling better, but hopefully i am not coming down with what's going around. I am definitely going to need to keep the run tomorrow at a recovery effort and then hopefully hit a solid LR on Saturday, if i get to run with the Jester and Marshall(fellow Daily Milers).
