I opted to run on the treadmill this evening rather than fight the elements(particularly the wind more than the snow) so i headed home and hung out with the little man for a while and then put my Garmin foot pod on my Newton's to try them on the treadmill. I wanted to keep it short to make sure i did'nt aggravate my back. Then on the last mile i played around with the speed(9 to 9.5 for short distances around 200 meters or so then recover shortly w/a brief walk then i adjusted the incline from 1 to 2% w/varying the speed, and i tried to focus on fast feet and cutting down the contact time w/my foot on the surface, and on trying to smooth out some of the extraneous stride mechanics i've noticed lately. Overall pleased with this short little workout. Splits for the run:8:19,8:04,7:46,7:46,1:52 for .25(7:34pace),and .76 in 5:09(6:48 pace).
