Notes

I felt better coming into this run. I was ready to run tonight and started off fairly quick as a big group turned out for the TTC. Started out w/Scooter and John M. and they past me about half way to 3/4 thru the 1st mile. I had problems getting the GPS going. The sattelites were not turned on, where i went into the hospital to get meds must have kicked the GPS off, so i ran close to 3/4 of the 1st mile b4 getting the sattelites synced and the run starting to calculate on the watch. I know this route all to well to know where the mileage is just about any point in the 1st mile of this loop, but anyway, once the sattelites were synced and i looked at the pace, i knew it was way faster than i should b running for an easy run, but the HR monitor was showing i was in the HRR zone of where i should b(70% of max HRR or less) so i got settled into a nice and easy rhythm and the effort was manageable going down MacCorkle.I headed up the hill on the Carriage trail and it had been a few weeks or more since i had been up that hill, and i kept the effort easy and the HR pretty much stayed steady the whole way up the hill, and then back down. I did have the L knee give me some problems going down the hill, i think my knee problems can b traced to worn out shoes on the L heel of my Adios 2. It's not bad if i am on the ball of my foot at faster paces, but if im heel striking it's a different story. I had to stop 2 or 3 times to stretch and fiddle with my knee joint to get it loosened up some b4 it started to feel better, and it did going back to UC. Just small adjustments to my stride made a big difference. All things considered this run turned out really well despite the knee problems, and i was pleased with how well i felt going up the trail, fairly easily. I will have to keep a close eye on the knee though. I may delay my speed workout until Wednesday and i am willing to cut back some of the mileage if i need to Splits for the run:approx 5:45 for the 1st .75 then:7:43,9:10,8:12,7:55,8:00,7:37,7:44,7:55,7:52,and 1:53 for .25(7:32 pace)
