Notes
Well ... while I wish I could have completed those last 2 laps, I'm still pretty happy with this, given I just ran Houston a little over a week ago. I went into the evening figuring I'd see how my legs felt during warm-up before deciding whether or not to do the time trial; they didnt hurt at all, but felt very heavy. Ron suggested I just see how it felt after a mile or so. I would have kept going --- after all, 5k's are never fun and always feel yucky, but after about 4 my legs felt extremely heavy, like lead weights, and when finishing that 6th lap, I wasnt so sure I would stay vertical if i kept going much longer.
Overall though, pretty encouraging that I still ran an average of 8:13; I am confident that I could keep that pace pretty easily for a full 5k when not running so soon after a half marathon. (and I went out a bit fast that first lap .... egad!)
