Sick, so I took some days off. Didn't like it, but I'm glad I have the maturity to step away from training when it makes sense.
I knew the pace was too hard at the beginning, but I tried to follow my heart rate too early and it inevitably went above the desired zone. The tempo effort is a mysterious beast. Ultimately though I loved this run - was unsure I could run at the tempo pace for 57 vdot, but did it and although I was above the HR zone, it wasn't by much until the last 5 minutes which were a bonus 5 anyway and I feel no soreness today.
Good confidence booster.
