I woke up yesterday with a lot of left achilles pain (completely out of nowhere), so I took it off and did my tempo workout today. I ran 4x5 minutes at ~6:35 pace or so with 2 minutes recovery between each rep. The run was good, although I had a stabbing pain in my stomach the whole time that made everything hurt a lot more.
I was happy with how easy this felt compared to the attempt at a 20 minute run at the same pace. Hopefully if I follow a logical progression with these tempo effort workouts, I'll get back some of that aerobic strength I'm sorely lacking these days.
