Notes
This was my slowest 5K ever by far. I had been under some stress the past few days so I didn't mentally prepare myself for the race. Coupled with the high heat and humidity, I just didn't want to run. Driving to the race I had the thought of just bagging it and run with Susan and help pull her along. But then I remembered that the men's and woman's races are going to separate. I went out slow the first mile in 6:12 and felt like crap. I minute or so later I see Reno walking. He pulled out with a bad hamstring. At that point I tried to pick it up a bit but that lasted about 10 seconds. From then on in I just slowly died and didn't go for it. After the race I wasn't bummed out at all because I just didn't care. If I was psyched for the race and ran poorly then I would have struggled with running a bad race. I do know that my next race I will run great. I never put two bad ones in a row.
