Notes

Because I was able to run 6 miles yesterday, I decided to do the 3K at the festival where I was performing a kids magic show. Because I haven't run hard in 2 months, I knew I had to go out easy. I was prepared to either slow down or stop if the knee gave me problems, The great news is the knee he.ld up very well. Not much pain at all. It wasn't a factor.

The course was up and down. Not much flat. Went out at 6:52 and that felt tough as I expected. I seemed to get my 2nd wind and ran the last .87 in 6:10 pace. More down than up in this section. I ran about 80% effort until the last 400 when I picked it up.

When I finished, I didn't have that horrible pain like I did in the 10K in August, so hopefully I will be fine tomorrow.

The surprise is running only a 6;28 pace for a 3K, this was good enough for 1st in 50-59.

34th place out of 1089

Ages 50 - 59 1st out of 43

This was a well run event by John and Jennifer Mortimer of Millennium Running. They had this awesome result board setup where you just stand on a mat in front of what looks like a big TV screen, The device downloads your result from the timing chipon your racing bib, so in seconds you can see your time, place, pace, etc. Very cool. :-)
