Notes
My first race since October was interesting. I knew portions of the course were off-road, but I didn't realize how much until Les Hill gave me a course overview.
I never expected I would run an 8:30 opening mile in a race. lol
I had to walk a few times in the first mile to walk up stairs and back down because of the number of runners. I had to be careful not to slip and wipe out in the grassy mud areas, so I decided to run as a tempo effort until the last mile when back on the road.
There was also a gate on the trail that had to be opened and closed by each runner to get through, so a bit more walking there.
I ran hard the last mile in 7:18 so I could get under 8:00 pace.
PHT (left leg) revisited me about halfway through, but it cleared up when I picked up the pace in the last mile.
Not a course for time, but an enjoyable fun race. 😊
