Notes
I had leg 3 of the Mill Cities Relay. Same leg as last your when I blew out my hamstring. The plan was to drive to the end of my leg, run back the 2.5 miles as my warm-up, so when I finished, my car would be there, so I could take off for my show.
Well... I got stuck behind the runners driving the route and the time was ticking away. I went from trying to get to the end of my leg, to hoping to make it on time to the start of my leg. I pulled in the parking lot and jogged to the transition, (.3 miles), just making it in time as I could see Reno coming in quick!
So I had to basically warm-up in the first mile. I planned on 5:50-5:55, but I was pleased to run 6:13 after no warm-up. Second mile - 6:00 and last half mile at 5:38 pace. The good thing was I had my hamstring issues. Running hard with cold muscles - it could have been a problem.
I really missed hanging with the team after the race.
