Notes
This was a special day with Eleni running the half marathon to raise funds for the fire victims of Greece. I am very proud of Eleni Mou as she had to battle lack of training and sever cramps, but did finish and even faster than expected! :-)
I had an excellent race. I came into the race not sure of my fitness and was actually on the same pace at 10 miles as I was 2 years ago when I was much faster. I did slow down from 10-12 with the hills and wind. I battles Les Hill back and forth, but he pulled away on those hill miles and got me by 14 seconds.
1:32:28, was only 1:23 slower than 2016. I would have been happy with a sub 1:35, so pleased with the result. Hamstring was fine and only minor glute pain the last few miles.
I am on track to have a good half marathon at Bay State next month in Lowell. I ran 1:33:43 last year and it's a much easier course.
