Notes
The plan was to do a track workout (6 x 800) and then go and volunteer to help out at the club handicap. I got a late start and realized driving to the track that I wouldn't have time to finish the workout, so I went to the club and did some easy miles waiting for everyone to show up. Les had enough helpers so I was able to run the 5K after all.
I don't feel like I was ready to blast out a 5K, so I went and did this as a tempo run with the goal to run 6:45-6:50. It's a good thing I didn't do the track workout as just running this pace, the leg pain flared up in the last mile. It was more of a tightness feeling. I can tell I have lost some fitness because if I was able to race this, I felt like I would have struggled to break 20 minutes.
At night at home the leg was swollen and had slight pain walking, so i have to be careful about doing any faster running until this 100% clears up.
