Since this was scheduled to be marathon day, I wanted to do this close to marathon pace. I probably succeeded in the first two thirds, but the last third knocked me on my butt. Temp rose to 85 during the run. The trail was lovely and verdant. I decided it would be prudent to go into Roca and get some water, and I'm glad I did. Met Bernie and Ginger there; they were on a bike ride. Probably spent 15 minutes there with the clock stopped. On the way back, I actually walked quite a bit; maybe most of the last two miles. A cyclist stopped and shared his water. I got some nice mulberries, too. So, the pace must have been quite good for twelve miles.
