Cool, last mile the fastest. I must have been smelling the hay in the barn. Carried a little water and drank and stashed it at the 10K post. Carried fig Newtons and are a couple at zero, then one at six and fourteen. That seemed to work well. With Gu, I felt like I had no saliva for ingesting it. It was similar with a Newton, but chewing stimulated saliva production, so I was able to eat it. 70 calories each. Seemed to help with the run, the splits being solid evidence.Tired, thirsty, and hungry afterward, but not dead. Lots of runners out, lots of cardinals in full regalia and song, also jays, ravens, flickers, chickadees, geese, and an audible on some cranes.
