Notes

Designed this run so that I could stop at Holmes Lake and cheer my LI-COR buddies at the Novartis run. Had intended to do a 14-16 miler this morning, but when I plotted the course, it came to seventeen. Decided if I felt good, I'd do it; otherwise I could cut off the MoPac at 52nd and make it an eleven miler. I carried the stopwatch, and stopped it during the break at the lake and at the MoPac trailhead.

Started the run in 47F and rain. Comfortable in two shirts and gloves. At the lake, met up with Liukang first. He's not running due to a knee problem. Too bad. His wife was in the race, though. Also saw Ying, who was there to cheer for her DH. Didn't see Marty K until she came around the loop. She saw us, so I'm glad I was there. It got pretty chilly standing there in the wind. Rain had abated. Time to move on. Stopped at portapotty at the ball field. Good thing. Onward, down Billy Wolfe, under 70th, and to the 84th cutoff. New part of the trail is complete, and nice. A number of muddy spots due to the recent downpour.

North on 84th was noisy, as I knew it would be, but otherwise not bad. A long way to the MoPac, though. I needed a potty break there, and of course the bathroom was closed. MoPac east was closed as well, for renovation. I went east a bit and found a semi-secluded spot to take care of my fluid control needs. Also, took off one of my shirts, as it was evident that I no longer needed both.

Now west on MoPac. Feeling reasonably good, but not sure I wanted to do 17. By 52nd Street, I made the decision to continue. Just kept plugging.

Had the restroom option at Antelope park, but didn't need it, so ran on by. Up Sumner hills and home.

Did the whole run with no food before, some water before, and no drinks during. Did okay.
