Notes
Picked up Sallie, wandered around a bit, toured the plane, met Greg B & Melinda & got photos. Took a 1/2 mile warmup jog. Had fun watching and cheering at the kiddie race.
At the start of the race, really wasn't sure I had warmed up enough. Didn't feel 100% ready to go, but I went. Breathing 2-2 from the start, and still kind of wishing for more O2. After about a half mile, started feeling like it was an easy, almost downhill-feeling lope, but it was sure a long way to the turnaround, and the easy feeling didn't last. Glad to finally get to the final turn into the homestretch. That was where Greg passed me. :-) Ended strong enough, and still standing. Pretty sure this was a positive split. Feel like I raced this one. :-)
Afterward met up with Tom and Marilyn Petro and Dan Saunders. Hung around for award. Some confusion as they announced me as 3rd AG, since the posted listing showed me as 2nd. They had run out of gift certificates anyway. Later email said 2nd out of 9, but race listing shows 3rd out of 10. Seems to be really 3rd. Ruben Sanchez somehow got into the 2nd place slot later.
