Notes

Mostly sunny, hot, and humid. 84 deg. F, dew point 68. Bob was off Mountain Biking so I ran by myself. Wanted to do something different, so decided to run the old powerlines out to Wyman Hill Rd. and back through the woods. Looked like sun was going to stay behind the clouds but as soon as I got out on the power lines it came out strong. Really hot. Put new inner soles in my trails shoes and they took a little getting used to, but I think they are going to be better. They are logging on the trail in the woods out to White’s. Turned around at the pavement and came back along the edge of the woods as there had been a little bit of ATV traffic. Stopped at the second ATV trail up into the woods to cool off. Crossed the little ravine and walked the steep hill after it. Sun finally went behind the clouds and the wind picked up. Crossed the power lines and took the trail down into the woods. Almost back out, I jumped a Doe. She ran a little ways and stopped. I stopped and she snorted and took off. I went up the trail near where she crossed and stopped. I could hear her snorting quite a few times after that, maybe calling to a fawn but I didn’t see one. Ran the rest of the way back to the Natural gas main then went up high on the trail and ran pretty hard back to the mill. Good run, but really drained from the heat and humidity. Tomorrow is going to be worse so I will take if off.
