Notes
Sunny, 43 deg. no wind. Plan was to run out 17 to Thompson Hill road and the do a couple hikes up the Ledge trail on the steep section. It was longer than I remember getting out there, just over 20 minutes. Lots of snow still in the shade on the trail. I stopped to put on my spikes and started hiking. Ran the not so steep stuff and hiked the steep stuff. Hiked all the way to the trail intersection. It had been 38 minutes running and I had to get back. So I decided to head for the Ledge and go down to Swett Ave. Ran over and then behind the Ledge and started downhill. Ran about as fast as I could go all the way down, slowing down a couple times to get under control. Stopped at Swett Ave to take off my spikes. Ran the road back down to 17 and went back through Mexico the way I came. Ran at a hard pace. Looped around the old tennis courts to make sure I got to 5 miles, but I had to loop down to the Lower Hydro station to get there. Pretty hot when I finished. Got warmer than I expected or was predicted by the stupid weathermen. Good run, wish I would have got more hiking in. Next time I'll have to got the Swett ave way up.
