Notes

Cloudy, cool. Big snow storm yesterday, 16-18". I figured the edges of the road would be snowy so I decided to wear my trail shoes. Plan was to run out to the end of Pike road and back for 6 miles. Got down to Erik's house and my ear buds died. Stopped and shut off my watch to take them out and put them in my pack. Forgot to turn it back on until I was almost to Turkey lane, grrrrr. Knee was sore for the first mile and half or so. Roads were wet with some snow. Decided to go a little further than 6, so changed course and stayed on Turkey out to Isrealson road. Go down through the closed road part was fun in the snow with my trail shoes. Kept the pace up to moderate, then picked it up some more once on to the pavement. Turned around at I road and headed back. Once I started up the hill I pushed hard all the way up. Kept the pace hard all the way back, redlining up the hills. Ran hard up Orchard hill and was gassed at the top. Back off a little to recover then went hard again back to the driveway. Really good training run. Plenty of energy to push the pace. Left knee actually felt ok the last couple miles. Sore after though but not any worse.

Gear: NB tights, long NB tech T, head band, water pack.
