Notes

Sunny warm, 68 deg. Bob was busy with his family home for Lisa’s mother’s funeral services. Since I had my road shoes, I decided to do a trail and finish on the road run. I went up the ribbon trail, 3 times around the round-it stump, then up to the Ledge. (to finish the run we cut short on Friday) Went down to the look out to take in the foliage and a few pictures. The color of the trees is just spectacular. Hung out for awhile, had a GU and enjoyed the view. It was a really nice day, there won’t be too many more of these this fall.

Instead of going down the Swett Ave trail and back across ( I am really tired of running the Honda trails), I went down to Backkingdom road, crossed it and headed for the Middle school. Hadn’t been that way in a long time. The trail was really nice running, soft with a layer of maple leaves. Closer to the field across from the Middle school, I got jumped by a dog that half barked at me, he wasn’t very close but I was zoned out and not expecting to see any one. A girl was walking him and he stayed with her. Came up by the school and took the trail back towards Granite St. The water was so low I crossed the little brook easily without getting my feet wet.

Ran the road down to Granite St, then turned left went by up above Bob’s house, and ran down the big hill to the bridge by the mill. Once I got on to the bridge I picked up the pace and tried to run fast back. My pace was only 8:10 or so, but it felt like I was going faster. Finished strong and felt good. Beautiful day for a run. Road shoes worked good on the trail, my feet felt better after than if I was wearing my trail shoes. They are pretty much trashed.
