Notes

Sunny, very hot and humid, 85 deg, deg point 65. Had not run for 3 days, due to heat yesterday and give my right knee a chance to heal up. Plan was to run a slow pace for the old XC loop. Felt ok heading out but quickly warmed up once I got into Scottieā€™s field. At the top of the steep hill just into the woods, I stopped checked for ticks, none, and took off my shirt. Felt much cooler. Ran the loop clockwise and felt ok on the climb, stopping a few time to move downed limbs. Crossed the powerlines and headed downhill. Finished the loop at an ok pace then stopped to recover and cool down. Decided to do a second loop and felt much worse on this one. My legs felt really heavy and tired. Stopped at the powerlines. Finished the loop and stopped again, the last climb again felt hard. Ran an easy pace over to the hill, down the hill and out into the field. It was really hot in the field and it was hard work doing high knees through the tall grass. Gassed by the time I got to the top of the hill and stopped again to cool down. Continued on to the single track at an easy pace and ran all the way to Hosmer stopping at the Swift to splash some water on me. Kept the slow pace the rest of the way back. About the last mile my left hip started to bother me and was pretty painful by the time I got back. It almost felt like sciatic type pain. Right knee felt ok though. Pretty good run considering the heat.
