Notes

Augusta half ironman. My first ironman. Thought I was more prepared than I actually was, neede much more training on the bike and my nutrition plan. I only ate a peanut butter sandwich and a granola bar for breakfast. During the bike i only drank a bottle of water. i was starving after mile 40 and it showed. I was avg. 22 mph up to mile 40 and then i kinda bonked and really slowed down. By the end I was only avg. 19 mph. Then the run came which I though was my strong event, I wasn't ready for the run my legs were cramping bad and my body was struggling do to the lack of food or water. I must improve my nutrition If I want to compete. I ran some walked some and struggled to maintain any kind of pace. I should have been able to run a 7:40 pace but ended up with a terrible 8:55 pace. Very frustrating. The swim which is my worst event ended up being my best time. 33 min.(wow) but to be accurate we did swim with the current, that really helped out. To re-cap: I MUST improve my nutrition plan, and get stroger on the bike. My time was 5:36 min. my goal was 6 hours but still dissapointed because the run cost me 20 min.
