Only thing I was really interested in from this race was to check my fitness for Columbus Marathon in 5 weeks or so. I had no expectations of competing. Everyone kept telling me the course was a slight grade down. Well, some of it was but there were a few up hill grades that was pretty tough.
The plan was to maintain even splits and try to run at 6:15-6:20 per mile. Turns out I have some work to do. Finished at an avg pace of 6:31.
I think my fitness is pretty solid, but i'm carrying around an extra 8-9 pounds. Goal for the next 4 weeks is to shed those extra pounds that is no doubt slowing me down. I had to work way to hard to run a shitty 6:30 pace for a half. The goal for Columbus is 6:40 and that wont happen the way things are right now.. DAMMIT
