Wow... what a unbelievable, tough, hilly, rocky, unforgiving course... But SO MUCH FUN!!
suppose to be a 25k but due to all the rain in the area they had to cut out the last 5k because the river was so high. But the couse actually read 13.1 miles on my watch so about 1 mile longer then the 20k they had planned. No worries though, we all had a great time and the experience was memorable.
3 of us from the Active Runner group drove to Penn Run PA for this race. Great fun the day before in PA checking out the city.
No age group awards but was able to finish 12th overall. Think there ended up being 145 total runners. Def. some great trail runners at this race. How anyone could run sub 8 min pace on this course is beyond me but they did.
Over 4000 feet of elevation and the roughest trails I have ever seen. Actually had to climb a rock wall at mile 9.
Lots of fun and we will for sure run it again next year
