Felt decent off the line. Went out with Jerrod who went on to win. He said he wanted to run 6min/pace, so i agreed to run with him and see how far it would get me. Through the first couple of miles i felt really good. Breathing, legs, and body were all in sync. Hit some faster splits and was feeling hopeful, and probably a little cocky that i could PR today, even though i had a cold. Well through 7 miles i was good, than things went down hill. The rolling hills taxed my legs and i soon dropped off pace. Jerrod was a really strong runner at this point and pushed on. I tired to stay within sight but mile 9-11 i lost 10, than 20, than 30 seconds, and by the time i hit the finish line, close to a minute and half. Through those last couple of miles i struggled, but i didn't feel all that bad, my breathing was never taxed, which i guess i should be happy about.
Good fitness indicator for MDI in 3 weeks, and some other good news is that Crow Athletics beat Sub 5 Track club by a point in the team division.
Time to get healthy, tune the legs, and hit MDI hard.
