ran the Halloween Howl 10K. The first year for this really challenging race. From the gun I was really in no man's land. I went out in 5:21 which was ok. In the second mile the hills began. Went 5:42 and 5:56 for the next 2 miles and hit 3 miles in 17:03. The fourth and 5th miles were brutal as I slowed to 6:08 and 6:10 going up some big hills. I started to get reeled in around 4 and by 5 was caught. We ran neck and neck the next mile and just before the 6 mile mark i went for it. Hit 5:36 for 6th mile. I won a tough sprint finish. Overall I am pleased with how it went. Of course I wanted a faster time but no way i was going under 35 on that course right now. Should have been a little closer to 4th place. Got a bit of a stitch in the middle miles but it wasn't so bad I couldn't run through it.
