Just since last time we were out, forestry burned from the crossroads to check station/yellow... we went down cell tower trail to Bear Pond and if some doofus hadn't been on the dock across the way, we could've finally made that loop to the trailhead :( Ended up just turning around and then coming up on a forestry dozer with lights, a bucket, and drag, mowing down what was left of the brush and dead trees...Kheepers was piaffing and threatening to buck... fun times... just what I need 2 days before a race! :( luckily we were able to scoot back down the trail while he took a dogleg... there def wasn't room for horse and machine on the main trail... lots of birds out; saw deer tracks, coyote & bear scat, and several freshly used gopher tortoise burrows... will be lots of goldenrod on that trail next summer
