      A half somewhere in your marathon training plan is a great check see where things are. I like doing one about 5 weeks out.
      I'd love to run my PRd half, again...but I think it's only a couple of weeks before my marathon, unfortunately. If it were more than a month before I'd definitely do it again--excellent, small race. Next year if Grand Rapids is again at the end of Oct. I would definitely consider the little half in late Sept. There was good micro-brewed beer at the finish, too. Big grin

      Getting the wind knocked out of you is the only way to

      remind your lungs how much they like the taste of air.
