Interesting, with the 305 plugged in the pluggin reported 2 devices yet did not connect. This morning I unplugged the 305 and the debug report and RA come up with device found "Home Directory /home/mike". I sent a debug through the RA page.

      Mike,

The device "Home Directory /home/mike" is a red herring.  The current version of Garmin Communicator is returning a list of all storage devices connected via USB.  According to your trace, it is an SD card.  I added code to filter out non-GPS capable devices but will need more testing before I make it available.  So, it still can't find your GPS.

Is this trouble (in general) related to the 2.9.3 (Nov 11, 2010) release of the Garmin Pluggin? The Linux version is based on 2.9.2. I seem to recall when I first went to the garmin test page it would list my 305, now it says the pluggin is an older version without listing the 305.

        eric :)

I'm not aware of the version issue.  I don't suppose you still have the 2.9.2 plugin that you can try out?  I still haven't a chance to set up the Linux box for testing.

So you're saying that Garmin's test page is reporting you're using an older plugin even though you're using 2.9.3?  If you're savvy in JS, you can debug it and see what version it thinks you're using.

2.9.2 is the latest version that the Linux pluggin uses (I believe that is reported by your script). I checked

            http://www.andreas-diesner.de/garminplugin/doku.php?id=history

            Latest: 2010-10-16 - Version 0.2.6

So, no I do not have 2.9.3.

And FYI Forerunner305 Software Version 2.80 not sure if there is any update available.

I need to buy you a beer!

            Mike
