Short article on Stride Mechanics (Read 390 times)

http://www.active.com/running/Articles/Can_Running_Technique_Be_Taught_.htm It doesn't tell us too much that we don't already know except that I found the following statement curious "Next to running fast, running in a fatigued state is the best way to naturally stimulate stride refinements." What do the stride gurus think? Is this bunk or is this the payoff for high mileage?
Well no stride guru ... But I was fatigued last mile or so of 18 mile longrun today and there was no stride refinement going on. If so it was disguised by a slow shuffle.

"It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it Great!

I think that the article may mean focusing on maintaining form while fatigued, and probably not "18 miles already run" fatigued. Maybe "headed into the last rep of a 4x400 workout" fatigued.
