I suspect you could find small pouch (fanny pack) or something like that that doesnt take away from your run, but would allow you to carry the camera....

I have only run one time with a camera but I just carried it in my hand and had it in a ziplock bag to keep it from taking on sweat. This is not a 35mm SLR type camera, just a poin-n-shoot digicam. It worked out great for this run (which was about a 16miler on trails mostly). The camera survived the run with no negative effects.
