Whenever I import a Garmin connect activity the comments never transfer over and if I edit the time or distance in Garmin Connect that edit does not transfer over to RunningAhead. Is there any way to get this working?

Those are both features / functions controlled by Garmin Connect rather than RA.
When the workout is uploaded from the device to Garmin Connect, the data file from the device is exported to RunningAhead, and RA processes the data into your RA log.
If you edit the information on Garmin Connect, that edited information is on their platform and not in the data file from the device, so it doesn't update RA.
Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.
Ok thanks, so even if I manually upload the gpx file it won't have the info?
Correct -- the data file from the device isn't changed when you do updates on Garmin Connect.
