Anyone run in Mizuno? (Read 921 times)

...---...

Really ... I dont feel that in my 1063's.  Now my Mizuno Inspire 5's I think are squeshy and wear them for shorter runs and/or longer races, but do not feel like as much support as my 1063's.

Definitely not as much support - I had to get the blue super feet for the support I need. But still, even with the inserts, when wearing the 1063's, I feel like I'm running on a trampoline.

I did a 20-miler Sunday in my Inspire 5's. First time going beyond 10 miles in that model. I have to say, I think these will make a good marathon shoe for me.

    San Francisco - 7/29/12

Warrior Dash Ohio II - 8/26/12

    Chicago - 10/7/12

Hey Trey, I  see that you have also run in Nirvanas and 2140's.  I am deciding among these two and Inspire's for my next pair(s).  How would you compare them?

Hey Trey, I  see that you have also run in Nirvanas and 2140's.  I am deciding among these two and Inspire's for my next pair(s).  How would you compare them?

Okay here's my take using the Inspire as the benchmark (obviously, I'm partial to that one):

the Nirvana's feel "beefy" in terms of stability, fit, and flexibility - perhaps even a bit clunky in comparison. It's like I can't get them broken in. I liked the last generation of Nirvana better (more flexible) but they met with an unfortunate early death: new dog in the family. The initial fit felt great but they're hard on my feet and legs after miles.

The 2140's: Man, I really wanted to like those shoes but the support isn't as good as the Inspire or Nirvana and my arches let me know it quickly. Heal cushion is good but had a firm forefoot which I felt could have used a little more cushion.

I love the Inspire for very simple reasons: they're light, they fit my foot very well, and I've never had knee/leg problems when wearing them. In the 5's, they've put a little more room in the toe box which I liked. The Nirvana's have a bit too much stability for me right now and so my leg parts get a little cranky with them.

        Hope this helps - Trey

          SAME EXPERIENCE.

I've never run in Inspires, but going to try them based on my near identical experiences with the other two.

          Hope this helps - Trey

          Absolutely.  Thanks very, very much.

Inspire 5 is a good shoe and like Trey said nice and light (actually feel lighter than they are ... if possible),  As long as you do not have a high arch as the Inspire 5 does lack the arch support I need for longer runs.

I think in the fall once I max out my miles on the 5's, I may tryout the Wave 9's for a marathon shoe, as its more nuetral and a little lighter @ 9.9 oz.

              Jazz hands!

Hmmm, just got a pair of Elixirs at the Peachtree expo. Besides the fact that the name sounds like someone narrating a porno (he does what?)

Thanks, now I can never feel the same about loving them like I do again.

run run run AHHHHHH run run run

Holy crap! I've got socks that weigh more than those.

                  Drinks Who Runs

My mizuno alchemys are a lot like La Squeak's experience.  I can get 299 out of them.  At 300 on the nose, they make my knees hurt.  One day fine, next day blam.

I guess mizuno is a lot like milk.

My podiatrist put me into Alchemys from Asics 2140 'cos I found the new narrower last of the 2140s gave me blisters. Today was my first "real" run on them - a couple of stumbles short of 10 miles - and they seem to not have the cushioning in the forefoot that I'm used to. Feet hurting like hell the last mile and throbbing now. Never had that with the 2130s. Everyone else seems to be talking about other models of Mizuno apart from this post. Any feedback appreciated as the shoes come with a money back satisfaction guarantee ( well the podiatrist owns the shoe store...)
