    Great race Mikkey!

    RIP Milkman

Nice job Mikkey! Definitely hard to run a race with little motivation. What did your splits look like? You'll have to start posting your weeks again for us to judge on Boston 23!

Fishy - don't look now, but Boston's forecast looks perfect right now. Mid 50s and west wind? Wow.

DW - you should know I'm thinking back to a post you had last year when I was dealing with my stress reaction. At this point with my runner's knee, I'm just going to run through it. It feels SO much better after I do my strengthening/massage work. I'll try to be careful with the pain / limping threshold, but I've seen more literature about running through things like you posted. Of course, that didn't work last year since it was a bone injury, but the alternative is giving up on another marathon cycle which I'm not ready for just yet.

I don't know all of this emotional/motivational malaise might be catching!!  Maybe I'll need to try to keep up with RP but he's in wave one so I can't catch him.

My best races have been even splits so if you see me fading It may be trouble.

This could be a bad thing. Historically I go checkers or wreckers (PR or ER) in races and I could go all “Rocky 4” showing you nothing you do will break me. I’m comfortable being uncomfortable.

Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.

What is your gut feeling…who will win?

          There will be no winners.

Huh?  Anyone who participates in a marathon is a winner.  Every single person on this thread is a winner!

              rovatti - Thanks!  And I hope you’re ok. 👍

Milkman - My training runs are always on the RA log…but I’ll make an effort to spell it out during Boston training!

I've only been looking every day since the 10 day forecast LOL!  Where is the running weather guy that was on this thread?  He could tell me if it's gonna hold ....

Mikkey: I'm impressed you managed the whole race when feeling that way from the start. With a proper training cycle and good motivation you'll easily get a much faster time in the fall and bump up your wave/corral position. I think I can use my 2:54 from last spring for my Boston 2023 qualifier so you need a similar time to get in the same corral; otherwise I'll have to stand around and wait for you.

Fishy: I hear you regarding the weather worrying! Joe the weatherguy stopped posting here unfortunately. But if you're not already looking at it, Weatherunderground is probably the best weather site.

60 miles for me last week; still a big effort for a slow pace but things are moving in the right direction. I finally saw a bear on yesterday's run (match that Keen!). They've been very active the last few weeks around here but somehow everybody was seeing them except me. Amazing beautiful animals.

                      My Week:

Taper week 2. 53 miles felt like a vacation.  The last workout Wednesday was the best I've had this cycle so it will be the last (other than a little speed worked into some runs later this week).

                      RIP Milkman

JT - so happy to see you back up in the 60s, your happy place. At least we only have black bears here. From a wildlife killing you perspective, the NE is probably one of the safest places in the country to run.

Fishy - I agree with JT, weatherunderground is the best service out there. Weatherboy, who he was referencing, would tell you though that forecasts are basically useless until 5 days out, and become very accurate 3 days out, unless there's a big storm system coming through as there are too many variables to predict. We went through this discussion with him for Boston 2019, when the forecast was either 65 or 45 with a big front (ie too hard to tell which side of the front we were on). Turned out to be the warmer side, we actually saw lightening on the ride to the village! Also if there's one thing I do keep to a tee with Daniels, it's the last 2 weeks of taper. I think he has it exactly right.

Mikkey - it looks more like you're crying, maybe after seeing a Ukranian flag it brought you to tears?
