www.kiva.org
--- check it out. My husband read about in Bill Clinton's book,
Giving
, and we've been looking through the various groups that are requesting loans. From their website: Kiva lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can "sponsor a business" and help the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you've sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back. ___ This really shows, I think, that people want to help and just need a way to do it. Check it out --- very neat idea!

Kiva.org has been so popular that they are limiting microloans to $25. It's a great idea.
