I think you did too, but I've been having problems getting in to my email lately. Damn dial-up internet. Try it again. Or, call me tomorrow with it. I have a funeral visitation to go to tomorrow at 4pm, but should be around before & after. What are you doing tomorrow, want to run in the morning? Or maybe this week some time?

Agh, this week is probably going to be out for going anywhere to run, unfortunatly. I have a TBSAH order that I need to get to my hostess, so that will be tomorrow, but before that we are doing stuff with Derek's family (aunts, uncles, and cousins coming for the day at his folks' place). The rest of the weeknights I'll either be doing short runs or working on kitchen stuff. But what do you have going next Sat.? I'm planning on a long run then. k

Is that Labor Day wkend? I don't have any plans. I think this is the first Labor Day weekend in 4 or 5 years that I haven't spent at a roping event. Feels strange, so I need to run to not think of it. How far do you want to run? Let's run here so we can enjoy some quiet back roads. You name the distance & I'll pick the route. We can make smoothies & relax on the back deck after. And, I have some Norwegian beer & Swedish pear cider for you to try. And, of course, chocolate from Norway, pictures to look at, etc.

Ooh, sounds awesome! I don't know how far...whatever we can run in 110 minutes, or so (my goal for my long run next week). Probably somewhere around 9-9.5 miles or so. Would this be all unpaved roads? I'm not real used to that terrain, so I don't know how long it would take me. k

We can make it all unpaved or a mix of paved & unpaved. The backroads here are too nice to run it all in town. Not to mention, town is too small to do 10 miles without just running the same roads 10 times!! Big grin No worries about time, you set the pace & we run what we can run. For the most part, it is relatively flat, some decent hills depending on what route we take. The roads are usually in decent condition, unless we get gads of rain, so it won't be like trail running (though we have miles of trails we can run on too!). I tend to drag my feet a bit when I run, and the stones on the road don't trip me, so the roads can't be that bad. You know, of course, that I am prone to tripping over my own shadow!! Let's plan on next weekend. I can do any day, you pick it.

Hi Zoom-zoom, Did you give yourself that name because you are an MX5 fan or just because you run fast?!

Big grin We (*I*...it's MY baby, LOL) own an '06 Mazda 3 hatch...LOVE that car. My last car was a '97 Ford Escort...my new baby has 50% more horsepower and is so much fun to drive. Of course, that extra zoom-zoom means decreased fuel-efficiency, but it's still pretty damned good. Though DH claims that when he drives he gets a few extra MPG. As far as running fast...it's a dream. I keep hoping maybe my online moniker will give my body a hint, but thus far it hasn't happened--though I am faster now than I was when I started 6 months ago. I thought so! My husband has an MX5 and is obsessed! There seems to be a real MX5 community in England, as they all wave to each other - you wouldn't find that in any other car.

I swear that when the day comes that I no longer need a mom-mobile that I will be looking at something like a Miata or Mini Cooper. The 3 is a blast, but it's still just a peppy econo-box compared to one of those little things. Heck, my son LOVES Minis (cars in general, really) and asked me a while back why we couldn't have one. I told him that *HE* is why we can't have one. Wink But we tend to buy our cars new and keep them for forever (just retired hubby's 17 year old Honda Civic Si hatchback), so we have promised him that if "Dash" is still working well in 11 years that he will inherit him. My first car was a POS used Mazda 626, so he's going to have a much nicer ride, considering.... Smile k
